Art and Ego: Let’s Change the Game

Let’s be real—art is a deeply personal journey. From the moment you pick up a brush, you start carving out your own style, your own techniques. But you know what I’ve noticed? The art world can be full of ego.

Some artists who sell well suddenly put themselves on a pedestal. Others with a huge following on social media seem to lose touch—they won’t even answer a question from a fellow artist. Fellow artist, you heard me right! Because aren’t we all just creators trying, failing, and learning? Why treat each other like competition instead of colleagues?

Well, not me. I refuse to play that game. I’ve seen firsthand how different things are in the music world. Whether you’re a jazz drummer, a rock drummer, or something in between, musicians support each other. They don’t see each other as rivals but as peers. Imagine if we brought that same energy to the art world—sharing techniques, collaborating, helping each other succeed. Wouldn’t that make everything so much better?

Dream Big, Work Hard

Speaking of collaboration, my partner and I have a beautiful dream, and we’re determined to make it come true. I won’t give away too much just yet, but here’s a hint: think art and music under one roof. A space where creativity thrives, egos take a back seat, and everyone is welcome.

Stay tuned—there’s more to come!

With love,

Debbie ❤️
