Musicians vs Artists – Creating Together Sounds Better

My boyfriend is a musician. Both of us are creatives, both deeply in love with the magic of making something that didn’t exist before. We often find ourselves in long conversations about our craft, about what drives us. To inspire each other, to learn from each other’s world. And you know what? Music and art are so close in essence… yet the way they connect can be worlds apart.

When two musicians meet, words aren’t even necessary before they start jamming. They feel each other’s rhythm, jump into a flow, like they speak a shared, invisible language.

But when artists meet? There’s often admiration, yes. And sometimes inspiration. But real collaboration? That’s where it gets tricky. The ego steps in. “I work this way.” “You do it differently.” “I studied at the academy.” “My technique is better.” Sound familiar?

Why do we do that? Why let ego get in the way of connection?

I believe something truly magical can happen when we let that go. When we stop comparing and start co-creating. When we see each other not as competition, but as mirrors and mentors. When we’re open to learning and growing — with our hearts wide open.

Because just like a band creates a whole vibe on stage — a world their audience can step into — artists can do the same. Together. Imagine an exhibition that isn't just about looking at art, but feeling it, hearing it, experiencing it with every sense. A full-body, full-heart journey.

An exhibition as an experience. A collective creation. Wouldn’t that be beautiful?

I dream of that. I believe in that. And I know it’s possible — if we dare to meet each other without ego, with love and curiosity instead.

Let’s make art the way music flows — together, alive, and full of heart.

Not each for themselves, but all as one.

Are you with me?

With love,

Debbie ❤️
