For me, music and art go hand in hand. Whenever I create art, there’s always music playing in the background. It helps me dive into my creative bubble and fully immerse myself in what I’m doing. Over the years, my taste in music has evolved, leading me to music with real soul and depth.
I used to listen to a lot of alternative music, but through friends and partners, I was introduced to different styles. From electronic music to trance – I enjoyed it all for a time. Yet something was missing, something I couldn’t quite put my finger on back then.
It wasn’t until I met my current partner, a musician and a big fan of older music like The Rolling Stones, that I started to understand what I’d been missing: the soul and craftsmanship of real musicians. Music created with instruments breathes something alive and tangible. It’s raw, pure, and authentic.
In comparison, much of today’s music feels soulless to me. Beats and melodies produced by computers often lack that human touch. The more I think about it, the more I realize that creating music with real instruments is becoming a dying art. Of course, there are still many incredible musicians, but much of what we hear on the radio seems to be commercial music stripped of its heart.
This is something my partner and I want to change. How beautiful would it be to create a space where art and music, made with soul and passion, are the focus? A place where artists can fully express their creativity and craftsmanship. That’s our dream for the Church of Art.
We are currently working hard on a business plan to bring our vision to life. We’ll keep you posted on all developments.
With love,
Debbie ❤️
