Dancing with Light: The Magic Behind My Art

Light has always held a kind of spellbinding power. It can reveal or conceal, transform or distort, and it shapes how we see and feel. In my work, light isn't just an afterthought — it's a vital part of the experience. It interacts with my materials, changes the mood, and invites the viewer into a deeper, layered world.

Pop Art Lips: Metallic Seduction in Motion

One of the ways I work with light is through metallic leaf, especially in my Kiss OFF Lips series. These bold, iconic lips are wrapped in shimmering metal surfaces that shift and glow depending on the lighting and your angle of view. The metallic leaf captures and reflects light like a living surface — sometimes dazzling and loud, sometimes soft and mysterious.

These lips aren’t static images; they move with you. Their appearance changes with each step you take around them. The glossy finish plays with reflection and depth, turning the artwork into something dynamic and ever-changing. That’s the power of metallic leaf — it makes the piece come alive.

Magical Brainwaves: Hidden Realms in UV Light

Then there’s my Magical Brainwaves series, where I explore inner landscapes and invisible energies using UV-sensitive paint. These works are layered with electric thoughts and intuitive lines that glow under blacklight. By day, the paintings reveal vibrant forms and fluid chaos. But when UV light hits them — a hidden world emerges.

It’s like stepping into a dream or discovering a secret map of the mind. The UV paint activates unseen elements, adding a new dimension of wonder and surprise. You don’t just look at these works — you experience them, and they change depending on the environment and the energy in the room.
