Sometimes, a special request comes along that touches you deeply. Last year, Irene approached me with an idea straight from her heart: a way to honor her beloved sister Silvia through a work of art. She asked if I had ever created a painting incorporating ashes. My answer was no. But I immediately felt how important this was to her, and I embraced the challenge with both hands and a warm heart.
Together, we developed her idea, resulting in a unique and meaningful artwork. The base was a round disc in which a small amount of Silvia’s ashes was mixed with epoxy, surrounded by her favorite colors. A tangible memory, full of love and symbolism.
On this disc, I painted Silvia’s portrait in black and white, based on a carefully chosen photograph. Every brushstroke was placed with love and respect. The final result became an intimate tribute to a special woman.
When Irene received the painting, she wrote:
